Welcome to the Job and Education Information Center page.  Here are just a few of the services you'll find this department of the Library:

Free Career Counseling

Skills Assessment, Cover Letters, Resume Writing, and Interview Techniques.  This is a free service.  For more information, or to make an appointment, call the Library's Job and Education Information Center at 516-379-3274.

Job Club

 Join our Job Club to obtain support, share information, and network with other members.  Facilitated by our Career Counselor, this group will meet monthly on Saturday mornings.  Each meeting will focus on a specific topic relating to job search and/or career advancement.  For more information, call the Library's Job and Education Information Center at 516-379-3274 ext. 504.  

Services for the Visually Impaired

  •  Zoom Text
    This is a computer access solution for vision-impaired individuals. ZoomText allows the user to magnify the screen for easier reading.
  • Aladdin Ultra with adjustable monitor
    This allows you to magnify printed material for easier viewing.
  • SARA reader for the visually impaired - The SARA Reader will read printed text in a variety of languages.

Public Access Computers 

 The Library's Job and Education Information Center has 32 public access computers that are available for use on a first-come, first-served basis by patrons age 18 or over, or with written parental consent.  To use a computer, please present your identification at the staff desk, and you will be assigned a computer, or a spot on the waiting list.
