Families First is a partnership of Freeport Memorial Library and Family Service League, made possible through the support of the Hagedorn Foundation and Family Place Libraries. Families First services are free of charge, confidential and open to families residing within Village of Freeport.

As part of the Families First partnership, the Freeport Memorial Library has a social worker available in the Library on Mondays and Wednesdays, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., to provide family support through individual meetings with parents.

The social worker may provide referrals to:

  • Community Agencies
  • Health & Social Services
  • Child Development Specialists
  • Child Care Services
  • Financial Assistance Services
  • Food, Clothing, Equipment Resources
  • Housing and Utility Assistance
  • Immigration and Residency Information
  • English as a Second Language Programs
  • Programs for Parents and Children
